About 110-120
years ago, much of the world and our civilization had developed already, especially the forms of art. There came impressionism, modern art, such as cubism, and abstract.
But, the largest, most important impact on Canadian art has been the art style of landscaping. Now, many people are probably not that familiar with the different styles of art, but when you say the
name ‘The Group of Seven’, most Canadians would relate to their art as exceptional, unique landscape art. And what’s more, this art is a part of our culture!
The Group of Seven, as
you can tell, had to be made up of members. These members have probably been
mentioned all around Canada, and each member is unique in their own styles of art. A specific member, though, which has contributed a great deal to the Group of Seven,
upon which this report is based on, is James Edward Hervey MacDoanld. JEH MacDonald
was a remarkable man, and the oldest founding member of the group. Why, it was
he, along with Lawren Harris, and Tom Thomson, that started the Canadian art group.
MacDoanld was an exceptional artist, and an important contribution to the Canadina culture. So, if you are looking for more information about this remarkable man, read on!
